Does anyone know how to remove a pop down tub plug?

It's the kind where you use your palm to put it down and then use your palm again to pop it up. I just moved here and want it out because it pops up when the tub has water in it and I lose the water.

Thanks!

I had one. Hated it. The top screws off but the assembly doesn't, or mine didn't. It was puttied in and it took effort to replace it.

this never made sense to me. You're turning it in a circle. Ir you're turning the top righty tighty, the bottom is going lefty loosey.

Think of it as looking at a clock face.

Though I managed to figure out how to remove my close-with-a-toe stoppers decades ago, I think it's rather fascinating that there's actually (at least one) web page dedicated to how to remove bathtub stoppers.

Whowouldathought!?
