The vertical pole of the lazy susan has popped loose from the top and I can't figure out how to get it back in place. Attached to the top of the cabinet is a hard plastic piece that holds it upright and I can't for the life of me figure out how it came loose in the first place.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Probably the plastic piece will need to be unscrewed from the top of the cabinet, positioned back on the pole, and then screwed back into place.

Depending on how much "play" or "give" there is between the pole and the plastic piece, you might be able to just wedge it back into place. (altough that may be why it popped out in the first place, ie; too much play)

The pole is probably two pieces where you have one pipe inside of another pipe. Look for set screw that locks the inside pipe. Loosen it and the inside pipe should move up and down.

They are two pieces. Like coal said there should be a set screw and then the pipe can slide up.

Neither pliers nor vice grips will loosen the knob and the top plate is attached with adhesive not screws. I trying to unstick the knob all that I managed to do was to have the bottom of the pole now come loose from it's attachment as I held on to it with one hand and tried repeatedly to get the knob to turn.

Aarraghhh!

Can you post pictures so we can see what style of pole you have? There are a number of different types that adjust differently.
