I just bought an SleepWarmer electric mattress pad and you do not feel the wires or heating elements. When buying a pad, look for thread count and reviews. Pads, like the blankets, can be costly so look for sales. My mattress pad advertises energy efficient as well.

That's how my wife and I picked up a king-sized Sunbeam electric blanket for $40. We also have a mattress pad (Sealy/Biddleford) that she bought for $50 at Kohls on Black Friday.

I like the matress pad better simply because it seems to get warmer than the blanket and can downright bake me.

However, we've never tried using both of them at the same time since we have a limited number of outlets. What would happen if BOTH the electric blanket and the mattress pad were on and set to High at the same time?

Roasted Mr. and Mrs. Bhaalspawn?

I'm tempted to try both at the same time one of these nights. If you never see me post again on these forums, perhaps that would be the reason why. Most we can have is a 2-cat night.
