I had the freezer really full and had to shove a few more things in and I think I may have messed up the icemaker in the process. I noticed a bag of shrimp was keeping the ice bar from raising and lowering. It was probably that way for a couple of days. Is it possible it burned up the motor (or whatever) trying to lift the bar? At any rate, it is not making ice. I haven't heard the tray fill with water or the whirring noise it normally makes.

I also looked at the water supply line and it seems fine. This is a low-end Frigidaire about ten years old. Maybe the icemaker was ready to fail anyway? I looked at some YouTube videos but it got a bit above my level of expertise.

So, time for a repairman? Any ideas how much it would cost?

Icemaker are really easy to replace. There is usually 2 screws that hold the maker and 1-2 plug that you have to disconnect and reconnect. 15-30 minutes repair once you order the right parts. Before you order a replacement ice maker, unplug and plug that in to see if it resets first. Icemakers are not that complicated.

BTW.. Replacement parts may be up to $100.

Be sure the "ice bar" can freely move up/down. With some of those, you can move them all the way up and it stays there and shuts off the ice making.

Usually the bar goes down when ice is used up, then that causes it to start making ice again. See if the ice is out of the way so the bar can go fully down.

I also have wondered if they had "preboarding" for 1st class passengers and people with small children on the covered wagons?

I'm in the same boat here, frigidaire singlewide, 7 yo, icemaker just quit producing. I have replaced valve on back that regulates water feed. I wonder if unit may be froze up (literally) and a manual defrost is next attempt. also need to re-set off/on type of restart I reckon.

jiggled all I can and no fix. I have had some good assist with customer care.

any more ideas ?

our frigidaire ice maker fill spout would freeze up every few months or so, pull it out the back of the freezer (should disconnect easy from the pex tubing) and run it under water to remove the ice chunk.
