Now that I have a Neato robotic vacuum, my first floor gets vacuumed once a day without me lifting a finger.
My housecleaner comes every two weeks and does the deep vacuuming and mopping. She has said the Neato has dramatically reduced the amount of time she needs to work on the hardwood floors.
This is my plan for when I move into my new house where the entire open concept main floor will have hardwood. Although I'm still deciding between a Neato and a Roomba.

I did a lot of research on Roombas versus Neatos and didn't read anything that justified spending more $$ on a Roomba. We've had the Neato about a month now, and it's great.
It definitely works. I haven't used it upstairs yet (all carpeting up there), but may try it up there this weekend. I mainly bought it for the hardwoods on the first floor.

My Roomba was 350.00, what is the price difference? Never looked at the Neato brand.

How is the Neato in corners and against the walls? That is one of the criticisms I've read, along with how loud it is. I would plan to have it run during the day when I'm not home so the noise is less of an issue, but I am concerned about the corners and against the baseboards and cabinet toe kicks.
