Hi folks . . . for those of you who have steam showers, are there any special maintenance issues or gotchas I should be aware of before purchasing/installing? I plan to have my contractor install the steam generator in my existing shower.

p.s. can anyone recommend a reliable steam generator sizing calculator? I've looked at the three different ones and they each gave wildly different results.

Thanks!

I have a steam shower and love it. It was installed over 5 years ago so I don't remember the model number but it is a Mr. Steam. Mr.Steam

The installer said it would be perfect since the roof was already slanted (no Chinese water torture of the water dripping on your head) I was once at a steam shower in a hotel and the roof was not slanted and the steam did condense and drip on your head.

The other nice feature of the shower is the transom installed in the frameless shower door. I can open it when I am taking a regular shower and close it when I want a steam shower.

I also like the aromatherapy diffuser. At the first signs of any upper respiratory health issues, I steam away with some aromatherapy. The essential oils really open up my lungs and sinuses.

So far, I have not had any issues or maintenance requirements.
