I never cared for them. My wife loves them. So obviously of course we got one. Truthfully I like it. As long as you're realistic about what you put in it its great. We mostly throw cereal/food boxes, wrappings cans etc. No food glass or newspapers. Empty food cans yeah it's fine.
Overall I would get one again. We have freestanding units. The inly issue I ever had was a plastic gear stripped. I ordered two. Haven't had a issue other than that one time

I had one in a 1982 newbuild.

Hated it.

Now that most every community is heavily into recycling, there's very little that actually goes into the "trash" can.

I could wait a week to put out garage outside; last thing at night for us. Perhaps if that is what you want then it might; just depends on amount.
