We have guests/friends over at least once a week... not one of our friends have robbed us.
What kind of friends do you have that you even think that?
We gave the tour when out of town friends came to visit for the first time. Sometimes, if I've done something new to a room, I'll show a woman friend, but not the husbands, who could not care less.
I was asked just recently by a man who flips houses. His wife is a Realtor and she's been to my place quite a few times. The first time she brought him for a small social event, he said, "How about a tour of your house?" I had a feeling the two of them had discussed my place earlier. Which is fine with me. I've flipped a few houses myself, and when I bought them everyone I knew not only wanted a tour, they wanted to offer up their ideas of what I should do with the remodel.
I got some good ideas that way and learned what future buyers might be looking for. I've found I never know when I might have to put a house up for sale, so it's good to keep track of what the prevailing taste is and how my property fits in. I had my house painted last year and I went with the consensus color choice of family and acquaintances, which turned out not to be the scheme I would have chosen, left to my own devices. I've had a lot of compliments from the neighbors, so I think listening to others was a good decision on my part.
When we first moved here we showed our friends the house the first time they visited. We've been here for 13 years so it's been a long time since I gave a house tour.

Frankly, especially if you have "new" friends, you never know. A neighbor was friends with a fellow he rented a mobile home to. There was no sign of problem until his stuff started turning up missing. The fellow had developed a drug habit. Even if your friends are fine, THEIR friends are unknown and people talk - often about anything unusual or of value.
