I wanted to branch off a bit from my Room Addition post because I never realized picking out vinyl windows would be a big deal. Boy was I wrong.
So, keeping in mind I am on a tight budget, can anyone suggest specific brands of windows? I saw some at Home Depot/Lowes that I thought looked perfectly fine...until I got home and researched a bit. I do not need nor cannot afford top of the line windows. I realize, with that in mind, I will not get top of the line windows. I'm OK with that. I just want decent windows that aren't total garbage.
I was looking for two 32x54 (or so) and two 36x54 (or so). I say "or so" because the length has to be less than 60" so it could even be 59.5".
Either way, is there any chance I can get this for ~$250/window?
Edit - Should have mentioned. Either double hung or Single hung are fine. Seems single are often harder to find than double hung (at least at local HD/lowes). Would prefer grilles in top but none in bottom but not really a big deal either way. I see some have argon gas in them so that would be fine also.
Anderson Silverline double hung low e glass argon filled can be had for under $250.00 a window. I paid 140 and 150 a window for sizing near yours at a builder supply place. Had to custom order some 73.5 inch high ones and average cost on 6 was $250.00 each.
Just curious if they're better than the average Home Depot or lowes windows?
Home Depot and Lowes sells a variety of windows made by a variety of manufacturers.
