Lately, I have been having serious nasal/sinus issues. I don't suspect mold issues in my home, but some people have brought up the idea. I am getting the air ducts cleaned next week (as I am allergic to pet dander and dust only...and I know that's in the vents), but I was also thinking about testing for mold.
Are mold kits a proper way for testing? Or are they a waste of money? Again, I don't suspect there is any in the home, but I am just trying to find out why I am continuously getting sinus infections (and yes, I am seeing an allergist...but no I am not allergic to mold...however I could have a sensitivity to it).
You already have mold in your house and so does everybody on earth. It was there when you were a baby. It was in the house the day it was built. It was in your front yard when the dinosaurs were using it for a toilet. They are as common as air. Unless you have a water leak somewhere, you don't have a mold issue. Mold requires moisture, low light and cool temps with a food source. Take any of those away and it dies. Mold is grossly over hyped and abused which is why Texas has declared it a scam and limited insurance claims. Strangely, all of the mold hype and frivolous lawsuits went away when the money was gutted out of it. So, no, you probably would be time better spent finding the real cause of your issues.
