Does anyone see any safety issues with hiding a gas boiler by using pallets. I saw the idea of a pallet wall on Pinterest and we put some around our boiler with hinges so theirs easy access to get to it. But I worry with the heat and wood. They're about a foot or more from the boiler itself.

Pretty standard to have MINIMUM 18" clearance on sides with no service panels and 24" on sides that do. Boiler Foundation; Minimum Clearance; Venting Requirements; Warning - Slant/fin V-180 Installation And Operating Instructions Manual [Page 3]

Your would be NUTS to use anything like a free-standing pallet that could FALL against the boiler and result in a disaster. Build permenant interior walls, or ask your landlord to do it if you're renting -- How to Enclose a Furnace Room | Home Guides | SF Gate

Whut?

We will be securing it to the rafters above. It's 3 walls hinged, so far it's pretty sturdy. I'll check measurements, and talk to my husband about other options. Just recently did it and heat has been off.

I wouldn't put anything in that prevents the gas shut off/electrical disconnect switch from being "readily accessible".
