Hi,

We are going to get new washer and dryers for our home that is for sale. I love the look of the front loaders. What brand is the best to get? I love that they come in all different colors but we will probably just get white. The buyer of our home will probably want them to stay with the home and white is classic but in my new home I might go a little crazy with a pretty colored set. There are a couple different brands to choose from and I don't know what is the best.

Thanks!

According to Consumer Reports, the LG front loaders are the best on the market. We bought them last year and I couldn't be happier with their performance.

We have Kenmore HE3 or something like that. They are basically Whirlpool Duets with some upgrades. Had them a long time. No problems. Love them.

They were once a Consumer Reports Best Buy. Not sure now. With consumer reports, the "best buy" is more critical than the highest rated. Usually the top ratings are all very close in performance. If you pay 40% more and it is only 2% better, it will not be a best buy. However the best value for what you pay is generally what most people are looking for.

i question how reliable consumer reports really is. Their analysis of paint is terrible. However what else is there to go on?

The LGs are the way to go. I spent way too much time researching them before plunking down several thousand dollars and everybody from repairmen to homeowners to Consumer Reports said to get the LGs. I have to admit-- they cost a bundle, but they're pretty wonderful.

I think you're smart to stay with white for a resale. The colors will be dated in no time and a lot of people don't like them. And whatever color you choose, you can bet your buyer will like something else.

We've had a pair of LG front loaders for about 5 years now. They're highly efficient and we've had absolutely no problems of any kind.
