Hello,

Is there any way to set up a motion detector to turn off when it senses motion? I am purchasing a UV light litter box for odor control, and I would like for the UV light to turn off when the cat is in there. Perhaps re-wiring something like this:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lightbulb Relay

What voltage does the light run on?

Any electrician could add a normally closed relay to the circuit to invert the output of a motion sensor, but you might not want to build this yourself if everything is running at 120VAC.

I'll probably get in touch with an electrician then.

Thanks for the help.

Not aware of any Normally Closed motion sensors.

You'd have to wire the motion sensor to a NC relay that would operate the UV light.
