I have bamboo flooring. In some areas I have what looks like dirt build up. I notice it but my mom says you can't tell. I dry swifer my floors daily, and wash them 2 times a week. It's only 2 of us. I have tried several things to clean:

Swifer wet
Murphy's oil soap
Vinegar and water
Orange glo

Now if I get on my hands and knees and scrub with one of those no scratch scrubby pads it does come off but that's a lot of work. Any suggestions? My next step is to try Bona Mopor have them professional cleaned at least one time.

The reason you have "build up" is because you use soap&sweater.

If I've said it once I've said it a million times- "DO NOT USE WATER TO CLEAN HARDWOOD FLOORS!"

Another multi-year Bona and microfiber user. Nothing else has been used, even with a big slobbery dog and sloppy relatives spilling everything. I do it every Other week, with 2~3 "dry" dustings between. My wife is Type A, and doubly so when it comes to cleaning, she's perfectly happy with the results.

We've used it on both light (no stain oak) and medium stained floors... the darker the floor/stain, the more noticeable the dirt. So, if you're working with dark floors, sorry...

Every flooring pro I've asked (3 in person, many online) has said to Only use Bona to have the best life and easiest refinish when it's eventually needed.

Funny thing is the build up is only on certain spots of the floor. My husband says he doesn't notice it but I can. Most of the build up is by the edge of the moldings and in one area by the dining room. I am buying Bona next week.

Er, contradicting yourself there again with your "expertiese", aren't ya K'ledgebldr? You seem a jack of all trades, and master of None.... from your link to NWFA:

clean with recommended wood flooring cleaner
Hard to find a product more recommended by people who ARE masters in their field of hardwood flooring, than Bona. 3 different pros, 3 different states, same answer to "how should I take care of these floors" ~ I checked up on a few forums for flooring pros and it's their highest recommendation too.

But, you know it all... that's clear to anyone who spends time on C-D.

I sweep and use a combo of swiffer wet jet and steam mop.

I have old wood floors, not anything fancy/HGTV ish
