Years ago, I used to think that the higher the thread count, the better.
I don't think that any more. The 500- and 600-count sheets feel too lightweight and even flimsy to me. Like the poster above, I prefer 200-count 100% cotton percale.
They get washed and ironed every other day. Towels and sheets make one load.
Holy smokes! I know ironing is just a personal preference thing, tends to be biased towards older generations (I'm in my 40's, my grandma ironed everything under the sun, and things that never saw the sun too), but even she didn't wash sheets more than twice a week and once a week was normal.
I just can't fathom running the washing machine every other day. It's beyond comprehension.
Plus it makes clothes look nice.
In high school, my mother and I would watch I Love Lucy in her bedroom while I ironed my clothes for the next day (even t shirt and jeans).

I've ironed tablecloths before fancy parties...
But iron bedsheets?! Wha-?
May I provide you with more therapy:>) I love ironed sheets, shirts, jeans, napkins, ... but it seems to be somewhat of a course which was laid upon me. There is no end to the supply of "therapy":>)
If you want crisp, cool sheets definitely get Percale. I have some Percale sheets that are what dreams are made of. If anyone is interested let me know. I have no affiliation with the company but spent years trying to find my dream sheets.

I'm a percale lover as well. I just don't get sateen at all - or microfiber????
I've had good luck with the percale sheets from target, Vermont country store and the hotel line from bb&b mentioned up thread.
So far nobody's enthused about flannel sheets. Those are really lovely, although I'd not label them 'crisp' even if someone were to iron them.
Don't hotels have those enormous ironing presses? They're about the size of a table top and they spread a sheet or tablecloth in them and then press pretty much the whole thing at once? A hotel linen press or some such thing? That would make crispy sheets.

A mangle! My grandma had one...I was terrified of it. That's probably where I first developed my fear, loathing, and hatred of ironing....

Please post the company. I have been looking for new sheets too.
