Fiber can be painted or stained, and comes in several shapes. Some is even insulated.
Aluminum is more expensive, dents and scratches easily, and it's difficult to replace, colors fade quite quickly and are hard to match, makes noice when hot or windy, and has the worst aesthetic look of all of them.
( I did research it a bit, because I am currently shopping for my options).

I think vinyl may be number one in sales because it's cheapest.
But we've bought a vinyl sided house, and I'm really hating it.
As has been noted, as it ages it breaks--where hail may dent aluminum, it breaks vinyl. As it fades, the colors are also hard to match, and it's harder to repaint or spot paint than aluminum. It looks bad and there's nothing that can be done about it.
