I'm across the river in Vancouver. I think the no smoking it in public rule is enforced/respected more here, as aside from seeing the shops you can't really tell. As for odorless, the vape oils are non-offensive and have an artificial scent if anything. Maybe ask him to try that out. But yeah any time we make a trip over to Portland there is the scent of it pretty much anywhere you go.

Close your door? Wow, have you got THAT backwards! GO FOR THE CONTACT HIGH!

I think it smells good, but I guess too much of a good thing can be wearing. Ask him to get a vape - Underdog log vapes are effective, extremely efficient, and very very parsimonious, eg a little bit goes a loooong way. Also the odor is way less and will contain no actual "smoke".

Or even a bong. Even if you Must Combust, a bong cleans a lot of the crap out and reduces the odor by a lot. You could always buy him a nice bong and offer to share a bowl with him.

I find cigarette smoke odor extremely offensive and wouldn't even consider moving into a situation with a smoker of tobacco. You knew this was the situation. Either accept it, or move on. It sounds like you've already decided to move on, so just get on with it.
