I love my 1929 bungalow, but there are a couple of things I really long for.

Central air is #1, by far. Unfortunately it's very, very expensive to retrofit behind the plaster. It will happen eventually, but the dollar amount gives me more chills than the system will once it's installed.

A pantry would be magnificent, either a walk-in or even just a floor to ceiling cabinet with roll outs. Right now I keep pantry stuff in the basement. The stairs are right off the kitchen, so it's not too bad, but it's certainly not as convenient as if the "overflow" dry goods and cans were right there in the kitchen.

Similarly, I would love to have more closet space in the master bedroom. Closets are pretty great for a house of it's age, but our bedroom is upstairs and the ceiling slopes such that closet space is pretty limited.

I'd also like a pantry area or pantry closet. Also enclosed front porch or roof over the front deck, as well as an enclosed back porch.

Easy.... a very large shop about 40x120 with a big gable door on a flat site to store my equipment and future projects.

would love to have a dedicated decent room for laundry only-currently laundry room is small 4 by 8 which also doubles as our mud room.

a big mud room with shelves, bench with cubbies underneath to store stuff and hooks for backpacks, a closet to hold all the winter/seasonal outfits.

big walk in pantry room (currently have floor to ceiling cabinet with roll out drawers as our pantry)

2nd laundry room on second floor
finished walk out basement (current basement is unfinished and not a walkout)
bigger hall bathroom for my sons

I wish it was beachfront.

And far, far away from other people.

Yes, even a tiny sitting space or green space can make a huge aesthetic difference and add a lot of value!
