A take off from the deal breaker thread. Instead of things that you did not want, what are things you wish you could have?
I have spent a lot of time around high end homes, although I have never lived in one of them. I am talking amazing $7 figure homes that were just awesome to check out.
Here are some of the cool things I would love in a home.
1. His and her bathrooms in the master suite along with his and her walk in closets. I saw one home that had such a set up with a connecting Jacuzi tub set between the two bathrooms.
2. A morning kitchen in the master suite. Years ago a family I knew purchased a beautiful 4,800 square foot home on a couple acres and then added another 5,000 square feet on to the home. The master suite had a morning kitchen and I thought that was so cool.
3. four additional bedrooms each with their own bathroom.
4. A guest bed room with its own bathroom.
5. a two car garage with a secondary one car garage. On a larger lot maybe a multi car garage. One home I had to do some work at had a 7 car garage.
Walk in shower, bidet, bigger closets and generally more storage space (I live in 1950 house), different layout - a hall with entry to each room (I already enclosed the kitchen), european style windows, attic, gas for cooking ...
A garage, or rather, room to build one.
A basement, water table is too high here at 4 feet above mean high tide.
Alley access. Older section of town, alleys were included two streets over where the lots got smaller.

LOL, No basements here either. I am on the other coast and the city starts at the sand and goes up to 10 feet above sea level.
Basement, some in the neighborhood do, just not my street, walk in shower, couple extra closets, extra full or 1/2 bath, separate laundry room - house is a mid 50's starter home, so short on storage needs by todays standards
I wish I had:
-More than one bedroom
-More than one bathroom
-A bathroom with a sit-in shower
-A window in the kitchen
-A kitchen that could fit more than one person comfortably
-Sunlight
-My own personal basement, not a shared one with the building
-My own personal garage, not get on a waiting list and pay $150/month for a spot in a shared one
-Walk-in closets, separate from my husband who has tons of crap
A morning kitchen? Oh no. I do not need a second kitchen for my husband to clean.
Honestly, I want a SMALLER house with LESS stuff. I wish I could find a well designed, good layout about 850sq/ft home in an ideal location with few neighbors, or at least hidden by trees. Location is easily the more important of those 2 things too.
Yes, I'd like that house to be built Well above minimum standards in terms of materials, insulation, and workmanship. Then again, who wants a poorly built house? But walk-in closets, Jacuzzi tubs, kitchens in the master suit, blah... all are junk I seriously don't want in my life.
