I'd actually get rid of the cathedral ceilings. The spiders stay toasty warm in winter.. those of us below, not so much.

Single level. I hate going down stairs when not fully awake.

One day the cat is going to trip me going down the stairs and that will hurt.

I want a bigger kitchen sink, one that an entire roasting pan or cookie sheet will fit into. I get really tired of washing pans one corner at a time, in the process splashing water all over myself and the back wall.

-- I'd definitely have a flat lot.
-- I'd have put in more kitchen cabinets during a remodel.
-- And as much as I LOOOVE my Brazilian cherry floors, they sure show dust. And I don't ten where shoes in the house.

It would be maintenance free! No need to repair or paint anything, ever!

Aside from that, my next house will be one level. I'm a runner and injured my knee. Having to go up and down stairs was incredibly difficult. Heaven help me if I develop any joint issues when I'm older.

Enough of these stairs!

I'd have an elevator!

Get rid of the stupid fireplace and the chimney that has caused so much grief over the years. Heater no longer vents up the chimney, anyway.

Screened front porch would be wonderful.

Uh… post #46 -- that should be "and I don’t even wear shoes in the house." (UGH, when I look back and see some typos. Oh, well.)
