As a genealogist who visits cemeteries quite frequently, I'd think it's pretty cool to have one so close at hand, particularly if it was someone who belonged in my family tree.
I know someone who bought a property that has three graves in a part of the front yard.
The house sits far back from the street and the driveway runs alongside the densely wooded
front yard. Technically the graves are not on their property. That small area is cut out of their platt.
You cant see it from her house or the street... but its there.
On another note..do you know that the Savannah, GA airport has 2 graves right on the runway?
The family of the deceased did not consent to moving the graves so they remain right in the runway.
that's all superstition.. if I could get a discount because of a grave I'd take it.. you're talking about some wood, calcium, and worse case, some stone, that you may or may not have removed.. the spirit of the deceased person is very unlikely to haunt you for disturbing their grave.. basically don't worry about it.
