I'm an old lady, and I have to agree. You will be glad you went for the bigger option. Have had property I developed, including figuring out barn space for animals, etc., so although I didn't have lots of large equipment, I do understand needing outbuildings, and you will always find yourself wishing you had more space in outbuildings - whether for livestock or storage or equipment. A few thousand more dollars will be well spent up front. Trying to create more storage later will end up costing you more.
So, are you happy we helped you justify the expense? LOL. But, honestly you (and perhaps your reluctant SO) will be glad you sprung for the extra space.
Unless you're in a hurry or money is no issue, I'd wait until the end of the year to buy. I have a bud that builds these metal buildings for the State of Texas. At the end of the year, the building makers will have buildings that either ran into financial issues or some kind of issue where the building was made but not delivered. At the end of the year, they want the building gone. They price them to move them out. You can save about 30% waiting until about November. You have to make do with the size buildings available and they can do some modifications but it is limited. They can take an office building and add the large doors to the front. They can add to the length of the building usually but not the width. It's worth the wait. My bud will buy one every year and turn it into either offices for rent or storage rooms.
are you pouring a slab that big? any idea what that would cost in Texas? I'm just curious.
