1. One siding is coming off. Intuitively it seems like a serious issue. Whom should i contact to get this fixed. Will a handyman do?
2. Horizontal crack in a siding. decent size crack. Something that needs to be fixed urgently or just something to keep an eye on?
3. These are not cracks but seems like gaps between the planks. How serious are these? I see them in other homes around me as well. In the picture you can see 5 or 6 of them, vertical gaps.
What kind of siding do you have? Vinyl? It looks like it has butt joints but vinyl typically doesn't have those. If it wasn't installed all that long ago could you call the original installer to fix it?

This is wood siding and its installed new and hence i need to fix it myself. It was painted recently though.
1) resize your pictures
2) even as large as they are I don't see anything that requires more than a good paint job.
Thanks. When you say resize, you mean make them smaller or larger. If you click on the link it shows larger pictures.
For the pic 1 if you look closer to where the roof is, you will see a siding come off. Thats my biggest concern. I dont know if i should get a handyman or a siding contractor since it seems like just the nails are coming off.

The horizontal gaps should not be an issue, since there should be a water barrier underneath, but anyone can caulk them. Same for the crack. The one falling out requires a little more skill, but any handyman should be able to handle it.

Oh my gosh - I totally missed "wood siding" in the thread title, duh! If it's nailed in like clapboards, which it looks like it is, it should be easy to do yourself. There are Old House videos on redoing clapboard siding that should help you. Hopefully you have a drainage plane behind the siding for moisture protection?

So I guess you mean you have owned the house a while with this siding so repair etc is up to you.
When you had it painted, the the painter seal better what looks like a few knothole just showing a little. The showing isn't the issue as much as what weeps out over time.
So...the repair issues.
Yes, definitely a well referenced licensed handyman. There are some little issues here and there and you want someone licensed walking up high and inspecting sealing seams etc.
While the guy is up there, ask him to keep an eye on all seams sealed around windows.
In picture 1, ask him to see if something was going on behind the board...or if anything happened as a result of it coming loose. Ask him to check that first tile on the roof corner that looks a little warped and not laying flat.
Picture 2, what's going on at the bottom of the piece of wood by the drainpipe...the pointy end. And, just as significant is always "why" so the problem is solved.
Picture 3, and others, I can see those seams you mention. Yet, I see one too that looks good. I would check since its been a while and see that the wood is doing well, still good, and seal those seams that are not close enough so no water gets in behind there and paint as needed.
