If the house was built in the 80s, there should be a ground - either bare or green. There should also be some kind of ground connection at the fan.

To keep it simple, can you just replace the 1 broken light socket?

There are 4 lights and all 4 white and black wires (one from each of the lights) are wired together. To replace that light socket would require that the black and white wire for that socket to be removed from the wire nut that is holding all 4 wires (4 black and 4 white). That would be the easiest fix it seems. The exact light is shown on a Youtube video and it is a very old model. Finding a matching light kit is very unlikely.

Simply install a new fan light kit. About 20 bucks or so these days. Use same wires.

When you hook up the new fan it is:

If it has a remote

Without a remote
Ceiling to fan box:
Black and blue and black (power)
White and green and white (neutral)

So red on your existing ceiling fan box is the lights
All the fans now seem to be blue for lights.

Hope that helps. You just have two wires coming from your ceiling.

We got a replacement which may or may not be temporary. It does happen to have plastic globes and no telling how much heat they can handle before thinking about melting.

Put LED bulbs in it and the melting becomes a non-issue.

CFL bulbs came with the fan. LED can be considered.

Existing bulbs are not LED and are 900 lumens and 40 watt.
Would you know what wattage and lumens in an LED light gives the same amount of light? Thanks.

Table we found has our 40 watt bulbs matched to 450 lumens.
800 lumens to 60 watt.

We have 40 watt CF and 900 lumens and look to buy LED comparable.

The LED lights give the comparable wattage on the box. CFLs do not run all that hot. If they came with the fan, it is not likely they will get hot enough to melt the globes. Globes are probably heat resistant anyway (like a plastic spatula).
