Best push lawn mower
Im looking to get some advise on the best stand behind self propelled lawn mower in the $300 to $500 price range. Im not sure whats good, there is so much out there. I have seen good prices on Toro, John Deer and Lawnboy.

Go with a Honda. We had one that always started on the first pull. It was amazing. It lasted nearly 20 years.

The number 1 best push lawn mower I have ever had on my lawn; is the one that has a neighbor kid attached to the handle for propulsion. Just a few dollars every time the lawn needs to be mowed and I get to relax and drink an Ice cold iced tea while the lawn is getting a haircut.
So I guess this would be a vote for "lawn boy" mowers. LOL

All joking aside though, I have a Troy-bilt mower that is getting very old, and it still cuts the grass like new. I love it.

I know many people still cringe when they hear "Briggs & Stratton", but they are much much better then they were a decade ago. I have a Craftsman with a Briggs engine and it has never given me any problems. I think I only paid around $189 for it. As long as you maintain it properly even a cheaper one will last a long time. If you were buying a riding mower I'd say go with a more expensive brand, but for a push mower I don't see the point.

If you're willing to pay that much for a mower, get one of the robotic ones that cuts the grass for you!!!!

Brands?
What to buy- Honda engine and rear-wheel drive.
I'm assuming it's fescue grass?
If it's bermuda, zoysia, cenipede- buy a reel mower (Honda engine)

Im not sure what kind of grass it is. But it sounds like the census in Honda.
