We have replaced all of ours in the last 5 years, and some didn’t last 3 years. None of the brands listed live up to their reputation. When the last appliance guy came to repair our Samsung dishwasher he advised that we replace it, repairs were over $400. He recommended Bosch, Miele, Thor as the best for lasting. His company only repairs, does not sell. He said he never gets to work on those brands and uses them at his home.

There's no such thing as Kenmore. Kenmore rebrands others (sometimes with superficial changes).

Frigidaire sucks on anything, they are a cheap big box store appliance. on dishwashers Bosch leads that pack, especially the stainless interior model, with stainless racks and sides, super quiet. i dont have one but it will be next. did I mention Frigidaire sucks.

I wonder if he never works on those brands since very few people own them?

Our LG washer/dryer are 6 years old. They work flawlessly.

Our LG refrigerator is 5 years old. It works flawlessly, although I wish it had a larger ice bin.

I have had the best luck with the new Frigidaire appliances they are awesome especially the new ones and im talking matching stainless steel . Bought everything to match when we moved in here three years ago and no problems with any of them and I happen to think whoever said Frigidaire sucks must have bought second hand or had a factory second . I had Frigidaire in my other house too and never had a problem in the whole 15 yrs I lived there and the women who bought my house said they are still kicking arse so sorry if you had a bad exp with Frigidaire I never have . I hope my next house has Frigidaire too if they don't it will have .

Today's appliances are not built to last. Most major repair or replacement issues would put their life at around 5 years. I regret every time my GE Cafe fridge acts up spending so much on it, but thankfully I was smart enough to purchase an additional 5 year warranty that'll keep my pocket safe until 2020.
On another note, my mother has had her primary fridge for well over 20 years lol

I don't bother asking this question.

I buy name brand, middle of the line, at a decent price, with the features I want. I repair myself as needed using the appliance parts websites as resources.

I have not needed any replacements I consider premature (less than 10 years).

I have a tiny kitchen and had to buy things that fit so I have a narrow refrigerator (LG), a stove and microwave (Amana) and I had to get up and look at what my dishwasher because it's some off-brand called Edgestar. It works well.

Because I needed certain sizes (like 18" DW, 23" refrigerator) and because this is not the place for high end finishes and because this isn't my forever home, I didn't spend the money on the most expensive things.

My building has Maytag W&Ds in the basement and they are AWFUL. They break all of the time.
