You probably can't replace the drawer front and count on it matching. I would have a carpenter/handy-man make a new drawer using the existing front and drawer hardware.

If they could find a drawer the exact size of their existing drawer they could line the new one up with the old one to act as a template. It looks as if there are only four screws that hold on the face of the old drawer. By lining up and clamping they could use the old screw holes to pilot a small drill in the right place. They could also do the same for the side pull hardware. Of course I am counting on them having a drill or cordless drill/screw gun.
Maybe my understanding is wrong but I was thinking that since the decorative handle portion is not damaged can't I just buy a drawer box and put the decorative handle portion (the whole rectangle portion) on it. This way from outside it will look exactly the same.

Yes. That's what the link's I provided allow for.
You could also turn the drawer box around too... leave the ugly at the back.
That would require remounting the slide hardware.
Just put two L brackets at each side and secure with wood screws.
No need to replace the whole thing.
