I have to replace my two heat pumps. They are 2-ton Goodman units. Trane would be $1k additional. Units are 14 SEER. $9k. I am more comfortable with this bid/installer. Replacing the outdoor and indoor units. Also includes two Honeywell 7000 thermostats.
I know someone that had a 2 ton Goodman gas package unit and thermostat installed last month. Multiple bids and went with the guy charging $3500 (nearly the cheapest). The most expensive bid was around $4400. Your price sounds about right.
I always find it cheaper to buy the units myself and then find a contractor to install them. Some will do it, and others will have an attitude about it. If you have it done during the slow season (now) they may be more likely to work with you. A 2 ton heat pump runs about $1700 from Ingram’s or Budget Air Supply.
I’m not a fan of Goodman myself, it seems like I’ve had electrical issues with them, stuff like control panels and capacitors constantly going bad. I’d take a Rheem or an ICP brand (GrandAire, Confortmaker, Tempstar) over a Goodman.

Yes I know how much they are. The markup is obscene on the installed prices. It's borderline criminal. For our units with heat strips they are more like $2,100. But still.
I always did too but the more research I do the more I think they've changed. They got a horrible name years ago mostly because they were selling to homeowners online who would install without warranty. This comes with a two year parts/labor warranty and 10 year parts warranty. The evap is aluminum so shouldn't corrode like the copper ones.
I have carrier now and have had a couple issues over 15 years. On one the evap failed in under a year, replaced. A new thermistor was installed and a defrost board on one. New caps but that is a wear item.
This guys is a neighbors friend. I do trust him. He says he put Goodman in his kids houses. And in his. He likes them. I'm fine with it, this is a lower end house at a lower end price point. No sense in spending more than needed.
