We put up a restored ceiling light (had all new wiring put in and re-brassed), it is a hanging type light, and has 4 separate light bulbs.

Want to use LED bulbs, so I replaced the switch on the wall with a dimmable LED light switch, all 4 bulbs are the dimmable LED type as well ( I double checked this)...

But when I went to turn it on, only 1 bulb lit up. Not sure what the problem is, I checked the other bulb sockets and they are getting power, the LED bulbs are new, so...?

Looking for solutions?

Thanks for any help or comments.

I used a dimmable LED bulbs BUT used regular dimmer switch. Works. Maybe the switch isn't compatible with the bulbs.

Maybe the person who rewired the fixture didn't do it right Try switching the bulbs around to different sockets. Try traditional bulbs to see if they work.

Not sure on brand, I will check this later today, the LED dimmer switch has a little switch on it, CFL, to LED, although from what I saw, this doesnt appear to do anything.

Strangely, I tried regular traditional bulbs after the LEDs did not work and they all lit up, but the wall switch was buzzing, still buzzed when I switched it to CFL.

We had a similar problem and the dimmer was not compatible with our LEDs. They changed the dimmer and its fine now.

i happen to stop by my old work place and spoke to the lighting people.

they said they have run in to off brand leds being a fraction shorter where the base extends in to the socket and misses contact so only a few light up ..

some times prying up the contact in the base so it is higher solves the issue . or it is a dimmer issue .

Then there are LEDs where the neck of the bulb widens out too soon above the metal base, and stops the bulb from contacting if the socket cover is too high/long.
