Thanks Cosmic It seems that I'll end up having to take a huge hit on the rebuild budget. I just can't see installing cabinets etc. and then having to undo everything to fix the problem in the end. I'm doing most of the work myself and would jump off the Mississippi River Bridge if I had to repair any more water damage. Looks like somebody is going to work some extra extra time to pay for this, sigh.
If you have pipes buried in concrete, it's usually easier and cheaper to re-route with new plumbing than to break up the concrete to get to the old pipes.
Grrr, nothing has gone right on this stupid house; one step forwards and three back. Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for the advice Freddy, I'll mention it to the plumber.

You are an amazing woman!!
But, if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. The work you have done oh your home is beautiful and (J.D.) perfect. It is truly quality work. I know you want to do this yourself, but get on a list for a great plumber. Have the biggest baddest cop there when the plumber starts and hand cuff him to a pipe, till he's finished. Cover that hole and move your furniture in...
