I had never heard of this until I saw it on an HGTV show the other day. It says recycled Jeans make a excellent sound proofing for walls. https://www.acousticalsurfaces.com/w...ultratouch.htm

I just thought i would post this since I have seen people ask questions about sound proofing. Home Depot carries this product.

going to be framing/dry walling my basement...section of the noisy furnace/laundry area
will have to look into this, I will definitely need some sound deadening in the walls

at first I pictured buying a bunch of wranglers and throwing them in the wall...lol...that would be pricey

even with wranglers

I can hear the ad in my head now: "What noises come in your jeans, stay in your jeans. (And they don't itch, either.)"

Cotton has been used in sound muffling for years. I've actually seen padded cells.

Ya just had to go an open that can!

Farts can cut right through jeans...

...and not even leave a hole! And they don't diminish the sound at all!!!

You need the right underlayment

I'd expect cellulose insulation is pretty much the same whether it's made from denim or not.

LOL! I think the sound might be a little muffled, but the smell...

Remind me to tell you sometime about Ernest Borgnine and Ethel Merman's highlight to their forty days and forty nights marriage.
