I always buy Whirlpool or Kitchenaid. I prefer their ice makers because I buy them without water and ice thru the door. The whirlpool ones have an ice bucket in the door the is easy to grab ice from. The ice makers cheap and easy to get on amazon. I replace the mould when it starts to shed its coating, usually every 7 -8 years or so.

The old school US manufacturers have much better supply chains for spare parts. The Koreans are the worst IMO. When Vizio started selling TVs here they had NO parts supply chain. If a tv broke under warranty you got a new one. If it was not under warranty you threw it away, there was no parts available. That may have changed now but I wouldn't count on it.

My Whirlpool (I forget exactly which model it is) is going strong 10 years later. Literally never had one single problem with it...

Although I've probably jinxed myself now.
