Hello, I am trying to figure out cost for a 2nd floor addition to my house in Flushing, Queens. My ranch house is about 1100 sqft but per code the 2nd floor can only have about 600 sqft of living space (thinking 3 bedrooms, 1 bath), the rest will need to be opened up to the 2nd floor roof. Nothing fancy, front all brick and rest sidings. Also would
love to convert to gas heating (from oil) and central AC. Can anyone help me with a cost estimate?
Local contractors are the only ones that can help with meaningful estimates. If you're using an architect, he will be able to design something within your budget and suggest contractors to quote the job for you. There are just way too many variables for anyone on a message board to answer your questions.
But Queens... I'm sure it's a bit more. And it's a helluva lot more involved than you think.
