We use very little in the way of disposable anything in our home, however, what we do use and toss goes into the garbage pail.
I recall when my kids were babies I occasionally used disposable diaper liners in their cloth diapers, and those I flushed, but I'm sure they, too, weren't for to be flushed, as I remember they could be laundered in the washing machine and reused several times before they'd break down.
No. I know about clogging the sewer systems, that they don't always dissolve and form a big clog that damages our water systems.
There aren't truly "disposable" wipes on the market, yet. It's all FALSE advertising. I think the Cotonelle brand is the closest to really biodegradable wipes.
However Supreme Court won't hear flushable wipes false advertising lawsuit
Some defendants have successfully argued that consumers who gain knowledge that advertising is false lack standing to sue because they may be fooled once by the ads, but if they are fooled a second time, it's at their own peril. https://blogs.findlaw.com/common_law...g-lawsuit.html
We have a septic system. DH insists on flushing wipes, despite the fact that I have a container of plastic doggie poop bags hanging next to the toilet paper roll. Makes it easy to dispose of wipes.
Even with public sewer system 'flushable' wipes can cause problems. Our town system has to fight clogs and damaged pumps every year caused by the fiber strands in 'flushable' wipes. That is in addition to the other stuff that idiots send down the toilets.
Very many years ago, women's tampons were advertised as being flushable.
Most of us learned unpleasant lessons about such advertising claims then.
