As a child and into my teens, I shopped in old and aging department stores. I am sure at least some of them had some asbestos in them. I’ve lived 73 years so far.

Asbestos cannot harm you unless it is disturbed. If the store has not been rehabbed, I think you would be fine. And if it had been rehabbed, regulations govern how asbestos is to be safely handled.
Per tax records the Dillard’s department store was built in 1963 and remodeled in 2010 so I am worried about asbestos contamination.

But if you are that worried about living in a world with toxins, you might need to see a therapist about this anxiety, because they are everywhere.
The building was remodeled in 2010 so it has been disturbed.

Being a public building, a building inspector must regularly visit the store to check on the integrity of the building, I would think.

If it was remodeled, then they would take steps to contain whatever asbestos there was, that is a serious health issue and doing a remodel requires tons of permits and inspections. There are companies that deal only with asbestos containment.

If yes, you need help.
Hope you know that most things you own are made somewhere in Asia, right?
Oh, LOL. Thanks for my morning coffee snort.

I love Dillards.
