Glad to hear another recommend it - anyone know if it's save for vegetation? I have two Japanese maples (the smaller ones) - one on either side of the front porch and would hate for them to be killed off (although the contractor who redid the porch did attempt to )
YES! That's why I recommend it over bleach- As I said in my previous post, people seem too think that more bleach the merrier. They don't think about the turf and foundation plantings.

If you water your plants beforehand and put tarps over to protect from overspray, you should be good.
When we bought our home, our roof look sparkling. Within weeks all the shrubs around the house were sickly and dying. Neighbors said they used something to clean the roof.
So we were careful when we used Wet & Forget. I think the rain washed it off in such diluted concentration that it didn't seem to bother the replanted shrubs.
I have used Spray & Forget, which I assume is the same as Wet & Forget? I used it on my roof, and it did seem to work but took a few weeks to see the results.
I’m not a fan of spraying bleach on vinyl siding, it seems like it speeds up the aging process and makes it brittle.
Thank you for the responses. I will look into the Wet & Forget. My house is very, very small, so I can easily deal with it myself if I can spray something safely. I just need the right solution which won't kill all of the plants, poison the soil, destroy the siding or kill all of the bees and monarchs which have been visiting my gardens.
Well, if the house is very small, the very safest alternative would be a long handled brush, liquid Ivory Soap, and a bucket. Do it just before a rain and you won't even have to worry about rinsing it off.

Do not use bleach on vinyl siding. It will burn the sheen layer right off of the siding. I use a product named Spray and Forget. Since we have tons of heat and humidity here in Eastern North Carolina, any surface that the sun doesn't shine on (the North side) quickly mildews up. Power wash it today and come back in 6 months and it's ready to be cleaned again. I tried Spray and Forget about a year ago on my north facing gable wall of my house. 24 feet wide by 28 feet tall with 2 windows. I did not clean the wall first. I sprayed Spray and Forget on the siding at the recommended dilution with a 2 gallon hand pump sprayer. Well, actually I got my daughter's boyfriend to spray it. It took about 2 weeks for something to start happening. It's been a year now and still no signs of any mildew anywhere. I swear by this stuff.

No it will not.
Bleach (diluted) is generally regarded as the best treatment for moss/algae on vinyl siding and asphalt roofs. People generally avoid it in favor of things like Spray & Forget due to a unreasonable fear of bleach. As long as you protect plants by pre-wetting and rinsing well (or better, cover them), there's no issue.
Spray & Forget is also a 'harsh' chemical: benzalkonium chloride, but fine when used as directed. It's also much more expensive than good old bleach.
