Home Insurance
I heard that home insurance is very high in some states. How much do you pay in your state?

In FL I was paying $1300 for a year in renters insurance alone. I was looking into a townhouse in Tampa and was quoted $2600 a year. Now Im in NC and my renters insurance is $129 for the year and when the house is built, that insurance is $280 for the year for $175K house. It will cover the dwelling, personals, out things as a storage or fence plus liability.

We pay about $600 a year for a policy on our rental house worth about $350,000. A bit more than that for our farm policy (which includes our house). But we have Germania, and, as agents for other companies have told us, "They're a different breed of cat." Only insurance company I've known of that would call ME, after a major tornado that they knew didn't impact our property (because they were very busy a few miles over in the no longer existing neighborhood it DID impact) to see if we minded if they came over and checked our roof for hail damage.

insurance hard to get
I aslo heard that in some parts of Florida the home insurance isn't offered anymore. And how much is insurance in Virginia and Kansas (with understanding they're getting hurt a lot by nature)?
