Default building a balcony off bathroom

Hi everyone. I've always wanted a balcony-very small-off my bedroom and now we are extending our master. The problem is the only spot where we would have privacy when sitting-second floor-is if it is off the bathroom. The bathroom is pretty big with separate shower, tub, closet, big tub. Has anyone ever heard of doing a balcony like that? Does it sound silly?

We have done things like this a couple times on client designs. One of my most favorable designs we did like this had a house that had the master and master bath separated by a smal hallway, between the two rooms there was a deck, if that makes sense. The rooms made a 'U' shape. The bath side facing the deck had a triple sling door that had recessed tracks, and there was a triple slider in the hall as well. So you could basically open the bathroom up to the outside air, and have an outdoor extension for your bath. Not sure how practical it was, but it looked great when it was done.

That reminds of a model I viewed, where the balcony ran across the master bathroom outside wall but the entrance was from the bedroom, which extended a few feet further out than the bathroom, creating a private recessed area facing the mountain view but shielded from the neighbors on either side.

Look at the floorplan for Villa Quattro
Monte San Savino - Rancho Cucamonga
