There should be a 3/4" plastic pipe connected to the a/c unit (inside the house) draining out somewhere. Some drain into plumbing pipes, and some drain to the outside and run onto the ground. If you go outside and look around the outside a/c unit, you may see the end of the plastic pipe. Water should drain out of that during operation.
Is the inside unit in the attic? or a closet?
If it's in the attic, there should be a metal pan under the unit, and it may have a drain pipe of it's own.
If the unit is in a closet, then you will probably see the white plastic pipe running out of the unit.
The a/c units will drain water out of them (it's called condensate) when it is humid. Is the unit cooling the house down?
When it was leaking into a bucket, did you have it repaired? Or did it just stop leaking by itself?
