The one feature I have always wanted in a home is a full basement rec room, including two bowling lanes. Of course only the rich seem to have this setup, but since I have a shortened version at my home and two full lanes in storage this could easily be reality for me if I move. Has anyone seen or has a setup like this? Ideally a home about 90 feet long and 20 feet wide (1800 sq ft or more) with a basement containing the lanes would be the low budget solution. Most likely this would be one of a kind, or?

Hi, Sorry for the long delay but I just ran across your post.
In the early 80's I worked for a contractor who was building "spec homes".
Mostly custom one of a kind in the 180k range. Pricy for the time but they were selling.

The basement in one of them was enormous. Long and wide. Everybody that worked on it laughed about putting a bowling alley in it. Well low and behold the couple that bought it put 2 lanes in the basement.

My guess is this might be more common then we think however unusual.
Go for it and good luck.

Default H & G Dream house TV special.

T.R. : I believe the TV channel Home & Garden Dream House Giveaway (COlorado) had a Two lane setup on lower level. It was a fast comment, or it was at the community center, but a great idea for the winter crowd or visitors. HGTV.com . if we will contest in 23 days.
