I could be wrong, but I thought Vicki was talking about a lawn swing (that's what my husband built for me), not a children's swing set.

Teak is very good which is why hey use it on boats. Also expensive. Cedar is not near the wood teak is and cyress would be better. But even then I would go teak.Youan get tea cleaners and treatmets at boat shops that will keep it loking like new. If teak is the wood choce for boat decks then you can image how good it will be for outdoor furniture.
