No, we now have a trail of bleach stains...we washed it off immediately with water, too.

Dear Mainer61:

If your deck is Trex Origins boards which is the deck board that is smooth on both sides, one option is to flip the deck board.

It may be a bit darker than your current boards at first but it will weather over time to the blend and it won't have the bleach mark.

Bleach can lighten your Trex deck. To minimize the lightening affect of bleach recommend diluting the bleach with a 50:50 mix of water, especially for the darker Trex board colors. The following cleaners contain no bleach and are Eco-Friendly:

Corte-Clean Composite Deck Cleaner (www.corteclean.com)
Chomp Pro Algae & Mildew Stain Cleaner (www.chompsolutions.com)

If you can post a picture of your concern it may assist us further in resolving your concern.

Regards,

Pat M - Trex

I had a plant sitting on my new trex accent deck. The soil got onto the Saddle Brown deck and stained it. I used a mild dish detergent to clean the stain which did not work. The detergent left a white film on the deck making the problem worse. Does anyone have any suggestions how to clean the stain and remove the white film? Is the deck ruined?

We've used 30 Seconds Cleaner on ours and it worked great. Better than pressure washing. Just spray it on, wait a bit (if your deck hasn't been cleaned in a while you can brush it with a broom), then hose it off. I've seen it at Home Depot, you can also see their website at 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaners - Clean Stains From Virtually Any Outdoor
