It indicates something is wrong. You should not assume the water is being treated. If you are not sure the sound is an alarm, you should unplug the UV light and have it serviced or DIY before you have a fire etc..

Thank you for the response. It ended up being a bad ballast. I replaced both the ballast and bulb and now everything seems to be working great.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully you have sanitized the light and the plumbing to each fixture/faucet.

UV bulbs are recommended to be changed once a year (+-9000 hours) regardless if the buld is still "lit". UV bulbs can still emit light but may not be in the range/wave length that is required for disinfection.

Can you tell the brand/make of the unit?

hi, i bought a house last august without any info on the house. it was a foreclosure. my water has tested 3 times and each time (couple of months of treating) tested positive for e coli and total coliform. i want a uv system. no one around here including plumbers have no clue about what i need or where to purchase. it is a 1 bath house, well is 50 ft from house. would appreciate any info. i am in the western part of nc.
