Does Riddex Plus work?
Mice repellant not septic......Was looking at the infomercial and was curious? I am a believer that most stuff sold like that is never as good as they say, but every now and then, there is actually a decent product. So has anyone bought and used this, does it work? Does it bother dogs? Is there anything similar to this out there that does work? 1 baby and 4 dogs surrounded by a bunch of fields, I'd love to find something other then poison.

Owned 2 acre property, neighbor had horses and did not like the 4 old mobile homes i used for storage so they called the city and Vector control came to my house to check for areas that the rats might be hiding ( her complaint was that the mobiles were housing the rats that were getting into her feed boxes) when i came to the door he started to explain why he was there, then noticed the 4 cats I had at the time , he asked if they were the only cats that I owned , I told him no I had 8 more outside , that i did a cat rescue from my home and that the cats had the run of 2 of the mobiles.
He smiled and said sorry to bother you I don't need to check , with that many (Kid's) I know that i won't find anything out there and he left!
So With that said go and rescue some cats maybe 3 would work , and they are really fun to have around . Good luck.

1 baby and 4 dogs means don't use chemicals.
I was lucky enough that a rat snake has taken up residence in my garage (detached) and he does a fine job of keeping the area around the house and chicken yard rodent free.

Are you talking about the things that you plug into the wall? If so, yes I have used them and feel they work.
We had a few mice, but mostly insects that would come in during the winter. I hated that, so I got the Riddex (I don't have the plus) and the mice stopped and the insects were cut down quite a bit.
Then our daughter got a hamster, and also gave me one, so I had to take them out and we ended up getting the insects back again and a couple mice. Hubby used glue traps, which also work on both mice and insects.
No, they don't bother dogs/cats, but you can't use them if you have any kind of "rodent" pet, such as a hamster or gerbil. Not sure about ferrets.
The glue traps are also an option since they aren't chemicals. But they are extremely sticky, so you still want to make sure your children/pets stay away from them. Some people are just a bit squeamish about them since they just trap the mice but don't kill them outright.

Cool, I have tried the glue traps but the mouse caused a ruckus and caught the attention of the dog, so we ended up with a glued Jack and no mouse. Plus I've seen where a rat had chewed off 1/2 its leg to get unstuck (no not in my house). I have 2 jack russells inside and 1 has been doing a good job (3 in the last week) at getting mice. I feel that if the mice can get in, so can the snakes, and I DO NOT want that, even though I'm sure the dogs would "handle" it. I filled thier holes, but they just make new ones. Now with all this rain, I've had some pretty big spiders and bugs inside too. And on that note..... walked into my kitchen and a big spider was in the middle of the floor, (can't stand them), grabbed my raid and sprayed, as soon as that raid hit her, (yup HER) about 15 - 20 little babies went sprawling all over the floor. EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW........
We are building a new house elsewhere and I think I might have to invest in the riddex so not to have these problems in the future!!!

EWWWWWWWWW is right!!! Sounds like what people have been calling a wolf spider. They claim that they are huge and carry their babies on their back. Do you live somewhere in the south?
We are moving from PA to SC and I want to avoid all creepy-crawlies inside if I can. I already plugged in my two remaining Riddex units and will probably get a couple more, although the 2 should do the house since it's only on 1 floor and 2000 sf. I also purchased a can of wasp stopper (my all time insect killer, not only for wasps), and a bottle of the spray stuff to spray around the edge of the walls. Going to do it outside, but I think they stuff I got says to do it inside. I realize you can't use that with kids and pets, but I don't have either right now, so I'm bombing the creepies!!!
Oh......take note that it says that it takes a bit of time for the Riddex to work well. The ultrasonic waves cause the creepies to leave, but it takes a bit to annoy them enough. That's why I plugged mine in last week even though I'm not moving in until the end of the month.

We have a Riddex Plus; it came with the house. Its plugged into an outlet in our pantry. I will say it doesn't bother our cat or dog. We still get bugs, but not that many. And the cat has still killed a mouse or two in the 18 months we have been here. I keep meaning to take it out b/c I think its just wasting electricity, but I never remember and right now the dog food is stacked in front of it.

*** Riddex Works Great !!!
RIDDEX PLUS
I have done extensive researched into the product Riddex Plus and have determined it works fantastic. In order to get this product to adequately obtain optimum performance - do not follow the exact manufacturer’s directions.
Recommended Alternate Instructions:
Remove the Riddex Plus unit from box and place the unit on the seat of a chair that you have positioned within arm’s length of the rooms light switch. Spread a thin layer of Skippy Extra Crunchy peanut butter onto a Cheese Nip cracker and place the cracker strategically against the wall making sure that there are not any obstacles between the wall and chair. Grasp the unit firmly in the palm of your right or left hand. If you purchased the 2 for the price of 1 offer use both units, one in each hand. Last and final step is to place your butt on the seat of the chair then turn the light switch to the off position. Sit quietly in the chair at least 2 hours while thinking about how excited you will be when you turn on the light switch and hurl the Riddex Plus at the critter/varmint. Repeat as necessary
Recipe: Rodent Creole
~ 4 cleaned and dressed rodents, cut into pieces
~ 2 tbsp. canola oil
~ 1 clove garlic, minced
~ 1 green pepper, chopped
~ 1 medium onion, chopped
~ 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
~ 2 cans(14.5-oz) tomatoes, chopped
~ salt and pepper to taste
~ 1 cup brown rice, uncooked
Season meat pieces with salt and pepper, lightly brown in oil
Combine remaining ingredients and mix well
Spoon into large casserole dish, arranging meat pieces on the top
Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender enough to fall off the bone.

They are a joke
Devices like this do not work.
Here's a copy of the FTC complaint (and findings) of devices like this..
Marketer of Pest Control Devices Required to Provide Support for Claims
Here's video of the device used next to roaches and mice showing the pests ignore it:

It's nothing more than a scam
