We have a metal roof. Sometimes it's kinda loud when there is a downpour outside. But I love it.

We have a metal roof. It was cheap and very easy to install ourselves. Personally we hate it when it rains hard. It's just too loud inside the house.

Anyone have experience installing a metal roof on a fairly flat roof (I think ours is only one or two inches of drop per foot)? It seems easy - and pretty inexpensive - to install, but I just don't know about using it on a flat roof. We currently have rolled asphalt roofing, but it's a pain to install and just doesn't last. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The manufacturer, if you are buying preformed roofing, should give you installation recommendations including minimum slope requirements.
The various profiles have different requirements.
If you are very flat, consider commercial grade standing seam. I have seen it specified down to very low slopes.
Or, lay copper sheets with pittsburghed, crimped and soldered joints, and that is good to almost completely flat. I have seen it 90 to 100 years old on flat porch roofs.
