Best way to rid the cigarette smoke smell from house hold goods?
I recently acquired some personal belongings that have been at my parent's house. Both of my parents smoke but I do not, neither does anyone in my house hold.
The said personal belongings reek badly of smoke from the cigarettes my parents have smoked over the years.
The personal belongings consist of a plastic piggy bank, a wooden stool (I made in wood shop class out of an old counter top), a wooden gum ball machine (also made this in class), some tin metal signs, some glass/wood/cardboard beer signs, a cam corder with tote and some clothes.
I want to try to rid the smoke smell of these items, what would be the best way of doing it?

Have you cleaned the items well? Other than the cam corder . . . Washing the clothing and cleaning all the other items w/ soapy water w/ some ammonia in it - or some pinesol - or some other household cleaner - should remove any odor.

If you can, keep them outside after cleaning. Airing them out for a few days to a week should help.

I've heard that enclosing smelly objects in something along with coffee grounds can remove odors -- never used that method, and perhaps it's just an old wive's tale, but perhaps worth a try with the unwashables (such as the camcorder).

Thanks. I'm going to try some Fabuloso and see if that doesn't remove the stink.

Gather all the belongings up and place them in a small, well sealed room. Then fire up a few Cohiba cigars and that will rid them of the cigarette smell!

You could always just start smoking yourself, then you either would not notice the smell, or would not care!

I rented a car that smells like smoke. I was thinking about taking up smoking, or having a buddy come smoke some MJ, as I have never tried it and like my job...other than that I dunno....some pine trees?
