Does anyone know how to get that plasticky smell out of new ziploc baggies?? It seems like when you put food in them it gets the smell on it and then you can taste the smell??? if that makes sense
Funny...I never noticed it before. My first guess would be an ozone generator...found in various indoor air purifying equipment. I know that will eliminate odor from onion and ammonia. So it should work on plastic bag smell. Altrhough I don't think you want to spend 4 or 5 hundred dollars to get rid of plastic smell in baggies.
I've never smelled noticed it, either. Perhaps if it is something like a sandwich or chips, you could place a paper towel in there first (for the chips) or wrap the sandwich in the paper towel first?
I've never noticed it either...but if you know you're going to be using the baggies ahead of time, why not just pull them out, open them and let them air out for a few minutes? It's worth a shot I guess.
When my mother-in-law was alive, she used to re-use ziplocks. She would wash them with dish soap and warm water and then hang them upside down to dry. I imagine that would get the smell out.
