Default Over-the stove microwave

I've had a microwave sitting in the box in my garage for over a year- haven't found anyone to install it. I was wondering if I can put it on a low table and just start using it.

I am seeing more micros built into cabinets under a countertop and I thought this might be a good solution until I find Mr. Honeydoo. I will be able to use it and also free up the space it is taking in the garage.

Will this damage it?

I am not sure what you are asking, HIF.
Do you want your microwave below your counter, or directly under your cabinet?
We had our old microwave built in under an upper cabinet so that it was eye-level, which was perfect.
I would not want my microwave below waist level--too much bending involved.

Check the manual and/or contact the manufacturer.

a) closed circuit vent (filter)
You can use your microwave as long as it has no intake opening on the bottom
b) outside vent
You will have a mess in your kitchen.

The plans show how to reconfigure it to vent inside vs outside. I figure that if I don't use the exhaust fan (that's meant for the stove), it won't ruin that feature.

As long as you vent inside you should be good to go. Please - I do not want to go on and give a disclaimer :>

Are you sure you cannot get it installed? Do you feel like giving details of before and (hopefully) after?

We have a over the stove microwave right now, and the fan runs every time the microwave is on. My old one didn't do that. Its very annoying. But, the point is that the exaust fan might run even if you don't turn it on.

IMPERIALBROWNS is on a distinguished road
We just had an over the stove/under cabinet microwave that had the option of outside vent or inside vent. We opted for the inside vent. The vent does not go on unless we press for it on the microwave. In other words we have control when to put the vent on. Hope this helps you.

That's good to know- I don't think having the vent for the microwave on would be a problem if I had it on a table. I should still be able to use it. But the underside has a vent for the stove- and also a light. But I think that I could just not use those features.

I may try to find some guys to move it into the kitchen this weekend and start using it.

Thanks for the info.
