Hi
I am curious about something we noticed when we moved into this home.

Literally every window in the home had a quarter taped to the window sill.

Once could tell by the discolloration of the tape, these quarters had been there awhile.

Any idea why someone would do this?

Sounds like some sort of money ritual to me, perhaps to keep money from "flying out the window"?

I never heard of this either & so did some checking.

Superstition? Good luck?

Here's an interesting thread about coins on windowsills:

Sounds like some cuckoos used to live in your house.

ha, I liked this post from that thread:

"Apparently, it means there's a ghost of a little girl in your attic, waiting to talk to you."

Could it be to check for condensation? I know people use foil for the same reason... Metal is cold - so moisture will condense on it... I know its reaching, but I prefer that there was a rational explanation, instead of your house was inhabited by slightly odd people.
