Was wondering if there is a rule of thumb on cost for building an eidtion here in CT. Is it $100 per square foot?

I have a Ranch house that I'm thinking of adding on at the end.

New foundation dug.
150 sq ft making current 1st floor room bigger
build stairs going up leading into...
new 200 sq ft of Master Bedroom, walk in closet, and master bathroom.
hardwood flooring, tiles, roof, windows, ect

Am I safe saying it'll cost at least $30,000??? It's only 400 sq ft!

I will do the electric & painting myself.

Sounds like you are in the range. If you do the contracting yourself and break it into the various subs, and rough in the plumbing, you might come away for a little less.
